About Us

Air Capital Drop Zone first opened on Cook Field located east of Derby, KS in 2001.  The DZ operates two Cessna 182s.  We have an active family of skydivers who jump as often as the Kansas weather will allow!

We offer first jump training either by Tandem or Instructor Assisted Deployment.

Our staff all hold USPA instructional ratings.

The Drop Zone Owner (DZO)

Martin Myrtle is the drop zone owner (DZO) of Air Capital Drop Zone.  He has two children, Kent and Wade.

The Facilities

We have a large 60’x60′ hangar with a large carpeted packing area.

The Aircraft

N8882X has been employed flying skydivers since 1986 starting in Lyons Kansas at the Oz Sport Parachute Center and moving down to Air Capital Drop Zone on Cook Field in 2000. She has made several thousand trips to altitude. The long history of 82X can be directly attributed to her excellent maintenance, and the fact that she has always had only the best of pilots behind the yoke.
